Alternative Medicine has been associated with a set of practices termed Complementary Medicine and is described as systems, practices and products not currently part of "conventional medicine". Combined, these practices are often referred to as CAM. Problems arise in that what may be conventional in one country or society is not always conventional in others. Alternative Medicine refers to practices independent or in place of conventional medicine. Complementary Medicine is used in conjunction with or to complement conventional medical treatments.
